About That — real-estate GTM: where to point realtors
Decision (2026-07-18): two clean channels, not a conflict. About That (HiveJournal / Emberkiln) is the audio layer; QuickSites is the website. Which one a realtor is sent to turns on one question: do they already have a website?
The two channels
| Agent | Send them to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Has a website (brokerage-provided, IDX, their own) | hivejournal.com/about-that/for-real-estate — direct, self-serve | About That works on ANY site via a snippet; they don't need a new site. This is the complete product: hear → try → go-live → buy, the brokerage tier, the QR print kit. |
| Needs a website / already a QuickSites customer | QuickSites (quicksites.ai) | QS is the sitebuilder; About That rides along as a block/feature. QS provisions + manages About That on the agent's behalf so they never leave QS. |
Primary destination for the audio service = hivejournal.com/about-that/for-real-estate.
Everything lives there and works on an existing site. QuickSites is the
distribution channel for a different customer (web-needing agents), not a
competing front door.
Why QuickSites can manage it without the agent touching HiveJournal
The partner-provisioning path (PR #1332, partner_grants) is exactly this:
QS acts for a site owner (owner-granted, scoped, revocable token) to generate/
manage their About That audio. So a QS-hosted agent gets the whole audio product
inside QuickSites — HJ is the invisible engine. That's the reason #1332 exists;
this is its headline use.
The signpost (shipped)
/about-that/for-real-estate carries a small line — "No website for your
listings yet? Build one with QuickSites →" → so web-needing agents route to QS
instead of bouncing, while agents with a site stay in the direct funnel.
Future flag — a realtor-native brand/domain (when it's earning, NOT now)
hivejournal.com is a journaling domain — a weird place to send agents. If the
RE vertical gets traction, it likely deserves its own realtor-native brand +
domain, the same move made for coaching (Workout Window / Lantern:
COACHING_BRAND_MAP.md — one neutral engine, niche-native
branded skins). The product already supports it — it's presets + a landing, so a
dedicated brand is a copy/domain change, not a rebuild. Decision deferred to
"when it's earning." Until then the funnel stays on hivejournal.com/about-that.
